英語の副詞にはいろいろあります。
副詞と言うのは、当たり前のことですが、品詞のひとつです。
主に用言や状態を示す体言あるいは他の副詞を修飾する働きがあります。
中学校で習った基礎的なものですが、
副詞のいろいろをおさらいしておきましょう。

時の副詞
動作や行為が発生したのが何時か、どの位長い時間かと言う時に使います。
- already He has already completed the project.
- ago She arrived here one hour ago.
- before I have seen it before.
- yet She hasn’t met him yet.
- never I will never see him again.
- soon She is coming soon.
- yesterday, today, tomorrow Yesterday, they left the hotel.
- lately She is not feeling well lately.
お馴染みの副詞ばかりですね。すべて時に関するものです。
頻度の副詞
ある事象がどの位の頻度で発生するかを表す時に使います。
- always It’s always hard to do this job.
- usually I usually go to this gym.
- normally I normally have lunch with her.
- often She often comes to see me.
- sometimes He sometimes visit his mother.
- occasionally I occasionally eat sushi.
- once He once came to see me in the office.
- seldom I seldom read the newspaper.
- rarely She rarely goes to the church.
- never I have never seen it before.
場所の副詞
動作や行為がどこで発生したのか、あるいはどこにあるかを示す副詞。
- here I’ve been here for one hour.
- everywhere There were so many people everywhere.
- near She is living near here.
- nearby Is there a post office nearby?
- down Please go straight down the road.
- away He is away on vacation until tomorrow.
- backward He walked backward towards the door.
- upward She was lying face upward.
方法・態度の副詞
動作や行為がどのように行われたかを示す副詞。
- so Is that so?
- slowly Please speak more slowly.
- badly He treated her badly.
- beautifully They performed beautifully.
- delightfully We enjoyed the party delightfully.
- loudly Don’t speak so loudly.
- anxiously His parents were waiting anxiously.
程度の副詞
モノゴトの程度について表現する時の副詞。
- almost He is almost 90 years old.
- fully We are fully prepared.
- rather I am rather busy.
- quite She is quite happy now.
- too It was too hard to finish the work.
- enough I don’t have enough money to buy a house.
- perfectly She played the piano so perfectly.
肯定・否定の副詞
肯定する時、あるいは否定する時に使う副詞。
- certainly I will certainly attend the meeting.
- surely Surely she is misunderstood.
- apparently Apparently, it is going to be busy.
- obviously He is obviously telling a lie.
- no No, I don’t agree with him.
- undoubtedly This is undoubtedly the best work.
