英語で自己紹介する機会があるでしょうか？

仕事でも海外旅行でもちょっと知り合った人と会話すると

自己紹介も必要になるかも知れません。

自分のことですから情報は既に自分が持っています。

後は英語で堂々と自己紹介するだけです。

英語で自己紹介する時の簡単なフレーズを見てみましょう。

 

自己紹介の始めは自分の名前を伝えることです。

• My name is  ………
• I am  ………….
• Nice to meet you, I am ………..
• Pleased to meet you, my name is …………
• Let me introduce myself,  I am  ………….
• I’d like to introduce myself, my name is ……….

 

自己紹介に続いて、もし同僚や連れの方を紹介する時には。

• Mr. Smith, please meet Mr. Suzuki.
• Mr. Smith, have you met Mr. Suzuki?
• I’d like you to meet Mr. Suzuki.
• I’d like to introduce you to Mr. Suzuki.
• Mr. Smith, this is Mr. Suzuki.  Mr. Suzuki, this is Mr. Smith.

 

紹介されて応える時には。

• Nice to meet you.
• Pleased to meet you.
• Happy to meet you.
• How do you do? (これは疑問文と言うより単純にhelloと言う感じ）

フォーマルな場の自己紹介ではできるだけフルネームで伝えましょう。

英語で議論できるまでになれば英会話も上達しているでしょう。

いつか英語でバンバン議論できるのを目標にしましょう。

英語で議論する時に良く使うフレーズをチェックしてください。

英語で議論する時は、シンプルに、簡潔に結論を先に、短文で等々

コツを押さえておくことが大事です。

議論で使う英語のフレーズを覚えてください。

●　意見を聴く時

●　追加説明を求める時

• Could you explain it a bit more?

 

●　再度念押しする時

• To put it another way………….

 

●　説得する時

• You must admit that ……….

●　意向を聴く時

• Do you agree?

●　賛意を表明する時

●　反対する時

●　疑念を述べる時

●　説明を求める時

• Please clarify this point more in detail.

2. carry on   続ける　Please carry on with your work.
3. close down  閉じる、終える　He closed down his business.
4. look forward to  楽しみにする　I look forward to seeing him.
5. note down メモする　His speech was noted down by Mary.
6. step down 辞職する　He stepped down due to his health.
7. take off うまく行く　His business has really taken off.
8. take up ふさぐ、取る　The materials take up the whole space.
9. back up  コピーを取る　The files were backed up safely.
10. carry out 履行する　The project work was carried out as scheduled.
11. come up with 思いつく　I  came up with this idea in the train.
12. keep up with 最新情報に通じて　I can hardly keep up with advances in the technology.
13. set up 始める　We plan to set up a big business.
14. go through 苦労する　Our project went through many difficulties.
15. find out 解明する、調べる　Can you find out the truth?
16. call off　キャンセルする　We have to call off the meeting.
17. deal with 取り組む　He is good at dealing with power harassment.
18. drop in 立ち寄る　Please drop in whenever you want.
19. hold on 待つ　I can’t hold on much longer.
