英語の副詞にはいろいろありますが、

副詞の使い方を種類分けすると６つになります。

英語の副詞の使い方についてその種類分けで見てみましょう。

 

英語の副詞を分類すると次の６種類になります。

1. 　時間に関する副詞
2. 　頻度に関する副詞
3. 　場所に関する副詞
4. 　方法に関する副詞
5. 　程度に関する副詞
6. 　肯定否定に関する副詞

 

それぞれの使い方について確認しましょう。

　１．時間に関する副詞

　　　already, ago, before, yet, never, soon, yesterday, lately

            例文

• I have already seen that movie.
• I haven’t seen her yet.
• He will come here soon.
• You have never been there yet.
• I haven’t heard from her lately.　　

       

     ２．頻度に関する副詞

　　　 always, usually, normally, often, sometimes, seldom, rarely

            例文

•  I always go there every Sunday.
•  I usually have a pizza for lunch.
•  I normally go there by bus.
•  He often work on Sundays.
•  I sometimes walk along the river.
•  I seldom watch TV.
•  She rarely eat meat for dinner. 

 

      ３．場所に関する副詞　

　　　  here, everywhere, near, nearby, down, away, backwards

              例文

• 　I have lived here for about ten years.
•     There is somebody standing nearby.
•     The sun is going down.
•      He walked backwards towards the wall.
•      She is away on holiday until the end of this month.

 

       ４．方法に関する副詞　

　　　  slowly, so, badly, beautifully, delightfully, loudly,

             例文

• 　Could you speak more slowly?
•    Is that so?
•    They treated him so badly.
•     She dressed beautifully at the party.
•     His speech was delightfully incisive.
•     The music was heard loudly in the next room.

 

           ５．程度に関する副詞

　　　　　almost, fully, rather, quite, enough, perfectly, 

                   例文

• 　　He is almost fifty years old.
•         I am fully prepared.
•         She is rather occupied.
•        I am quite satisfied with the result.
•        They had had enough to eat.
•        The report was perfectly true.

 

               ６．肯定・否定に関する副詞

　　　　       certainly, surely, apparently, obviously, undoubtedly,

                      例文

• 　I will certainly come tomorrow again.
•    Surely your opinion is wrong.
•     Apparently it’s going to rain this afternoon.
•     He is obviously in a bad mood.
•     His opinion  is undoubtedly based on wrong information.

 

副詞としては上記の他にも沢山ありますが、

副詞を分類して効率よくその意味を理解して

実際の会話に効果的に活用できるようにしておきましょう。

英語の名詞の複数形は通常-sをつけるのだと習いました。

すべてがこのルールであれば単純で簡単ですが

実際にはなかなかそのようなシンプルには行きません。

 

ドイツ語でもフランス語でもあるいはスペイン語でも

名詞の複数形を作るのは頭の痛い問題です。

例えばインドネシア語では名詞の複数形を作るのは

とても簡単です。頭が痛くなるヒマもありません。

インドネシア語では名詞を2回言えば複数形になります。

文字で書く場合には数学で二乗と言う時に数字の右肩に

数字の２を書きますが、インドネシア語でも

単語の右肩に２と書くと名詞の複数形になります。

笑い話のような話ですが、事実です。

すべての言語がインドネシア語のこのルールを

採用してくれたら言語習得はもっと簡単かも知れませんね。

 

閑話休題、英語の名詞の複数形で単純に-sをつけるだけでなく

スペルが変わるものが沢山あって頭が痛くなります。

そんな頭が痛くなる名詞の複数形を確認しておきましょう。

名詞の複数形を作るのに-sをつけるだけなら簡単ですが、

英語の名詞の複数形にはスペルが変化するもの

スペルが単数、複数同じものといろいろです。

英語の試験でも複数形を書けと言う問題で

頭が痛くなったことはないでしょうか？

単純なルールがないのでひとつひとつ覚えるしかありません。

クセのある英単語の複数形は再度確認しておきましょう。

英語で願い事が言えますか？

基本のパターンを覚えていれば後は置き換えだけですから

　　I wish 主語＋動詞の仮定法過去

　　I wish I were rich.  金持ちだったらなあ。（実際は金持ちでない。）

　　I wish I had an umbrella. 傘を持っていたら良かったのに。
