既にある会話のパターンを沢山覚えてそのまま使いましょう。
会話の型枠、パターンを覚えて応用する方が英会話上達への近道です。
例えば道を尋ねる時の英会話のパターンをおさらいしてみましょう。
１．道を尋ねる
- Could you tell me how to get to ～ ?
- How do I find ～ ?
- Pardon me, I’m lost, how do I get to ～ ?

2. 道を教える
- The easiest way is to ～

- Turn back/Go back
- Turn left/right
- Go along ～
- Take the first road on the left.
- It’s on the left/right.
- It’s about 10 minutes from here.
- It’s on your right.
- Go straight ahead.
- You are going the wrong way.
- Take this road.
3. どのくらいか聞く
- Is it far from here?
- Is it a long way?
- How far is it to the post office?
- It’s just around the corner.
- It’s quite close.
- It takes a while.
- It’s about a ten-minutes walk.
- It’s about 1 km from here.
4. 道を知らないと答える
- I’m sorry, I don’t know.
- Sorry, I’m not from around here.
- I’m afraid I can’t help you.
- You could ask another person.
5. 連れて行ってあげる
- Follow me, I’ll show you the way.
- Do you want me to draw you a map?
- Come this way, please.
